Below, we take a look at some of the most common questions about bonds. Don’t see what you need? Contact us today!

What are walk-through bail bonds?

A walk-through bail bond is a type of bail bond that allows the defendant to be released from jail without having to pay the total amount of their bail upfront. Instead, the defendant typically pays a non-refundable fee to the bail bondsman, who then posts the bond on their behalf.

This allows the defendant to be released from custody while they await trial, but they are still required to appear in court as scheduled. If the defendant fails to appear in court, the bail bondsman may be required to pay the total bond amount to the court. In some cases, the defendant or a cosigner may be required to provide collateral to secure the bond.

What is a criminal surety bond?

A surety bond provides the financial backing to pay bail. The end result is the same, but how the money gets to court is quite different. Here’s how you can obtain a surety bond:

  • Someone requests money from a bondsman, like 24/7 Bail Bonds, to bail a defendant out of jail.
  • We may require partial payment in cash and guarantee the remainder with collateral, which ranges from deeds to jewelry.
  • Then, we work with a surety company to attain the full bail amount.
  • If approved, the surety company pays the total amount and secures the defendant’s release.

This type of bond is a great option because it only requires a partial cash payment.

What are traffic bonds?

Traffic bonds are specific to traffic violations, which may include:

  • Street racing
  • Running a red light
  • Speeding
  • Driving with a suspended license
  • Running a stop sign
  • Operating a vehicle with expired tags

These may sound like petty violations. However, unpaid traffic tickets quickly become a very big deal. Once that fine or ticket gets called in, there’s a warrant out for your arrest.

What is a non-arrest bond?

Essentially, a non-arrest bond is an open warrant for someone’s arrest. When this occurs, it is commonly because a person misses a court date. This slip of the mind results in a warrant issued for their arrest.

Non-arrest bail bonds allow the defendant to post bond before someone takes them to jail, skipping the uncomfortable part of the process. However, this is a specialized process and requires the experience of a bail bond company such as 24/7 Bail Bonds.
